Tata Nano+ Facebook + MTV = Social Road Trip

Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, is in celebratory mood. It is elated about its extensive fan base on Facebook through which it has accumulated 1 million likes. Since, it’s not every day that a Facebook page gets 1 million likes; Tata Nano wishes to thank its Facebook users. So, how does it plan to say thank you? The cheapest car company is organizing a social road trip across India in which four teams get to participate.

These teams have to drive Tata Nanos for 20 days and overcome obstacles and hurdles. In the meantime, the 1 million Facebook fans vote the best team and the devoted fan gets a Tata Nano. Some sources reveal that this is a strategy by Tata Nano to attract and capitalize on India’s young market potential. Apparently, about 42% of Nano owners are in the 18 to 34 age group!!

The company is leaving no stone unturned in attracting more youth to boost its sales. The social road trip is conducted in collaboration with MTV – a channel that is already popular amongst youngsters for the Roadies show! So, does the lethal combination of Tata Nano + Facebook + MTV have the potential to attract young buyers of Tata Nano cars in 2012? We have to wait and watch. Read more for what we think really matters to young car buyers.

Is the Nano Alluring Youngsters?

A quick look at the car’s features raises certain doubts about its compatibility with youngsters! Generally, youngsters prefer cars that can zoom past smoothly, that have jazzy features, and of course an awesome appearance.

In the case of Tata Nano, a motorcar enthusiast Aneesh Shivanekar blogs “it’s a cute lil’ car that yelps the moment you take the roundabout on your way back home at 40 kph so it’ll need some amount of preparation to make it go around corners without tumbling over.”

What’s more, the basic model of the Tata Nano has no radio, no power windows, no air conditioning, no anti-lock brakes, no remote locks, and no power steering! So, it could be quite boring for most youngsters to drive across town without tuning into their favorite radio channel, and having to manually lock doors (very rare in cities these days), while allowing the wind to make a mess of their hair (when most basic car versions come with air-conditioning)!

Tata Nano’s Advantage

I Like Cars T-shirt. (http://www.allthingscustomized.com/product/cars-t-shirt/)

Having said that, we cannot totally rule out the cheapest car’s plus points! The car boasts of an unbeatable petrol mileage of 25kmpl, an SUV-like high ground clearance (which is very essential for Indian roads that are riddled with pot-holes, humps, and uneven surfaces), and an affordable, ex-showroom, price of Rs.151284 for the Nano BS III model (in Bangalore)!

So, if you want to participate in the social road trip (winners get a Tata Nano), please register at http://mtv.in.com/drive/. You might also want to click the Like button on http://www.facebook.com/TataNanoPage because an ardent fan also gets to win the cheapest car in the world :) . Here is wishing you all the very best :) !

The Best T20 Innings Ever – Chris Gayle Against Delhi Daredevils

http://www.allthingscustomized.com/product/chris-gayle-t-shirt/

There is Chris Gayle and there are others. That is what he showed yesterday in the IPL 2012 match for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils. To say this is the most destructive IPL innings I have seen, is not merely a statement of my opinion. It is an opinion I am sure is shared by quite a few others – and you would need at least seven digits to count them, if not more. I have heard of the calm before the (Gayle) storm – I saw it when Gayle patiently batted out a maiden over. I have heard that the eye of the storm is calm (never been in one though) while it wreaks havoc all around. I saw it when Chris Gayle’s face was as serene as a yogi in meditation in the Himalayas while he was batting. One can be excused if we were confused between the two given the locks of hair that seemed to flow down from his head (like Shiva’s mane).

Christopher Henry Gayle definitely has to rank as the most destructive batsman of all times. I know there are going to be lots of objections: Test match cricket is different, batting without a helmet is different, the quality of the pace bowlers is not the same as it used to be, there is no elegance in the shots (it is monotonous and all his shots are in an arc between long on and deep mid-wicket like a golfer practicing his swing). All of these have some merit and there is no simple way to compare Donald (Don) Bradman, Vivian (Viv) Richards, Sachin Tendulkar (at his best which was ages ago) and Virender (Viru) Sehwag.

However, the mere fact that the best batsmen in the world today are all competing and no one has come close to this kind of domination for so long, at least in IPL, is an indication of his prodigious talent. There are many strong people who can hit the ball a long way. There are many people who can time the ball sweetly, but to do both with such consistency is what sets him apart. At the other end, one could see arguably the best batsman of India, Virat Kohli, look pedestrian in comparison, although by any other yardstick, Kohli’s innings was remarkable. Gayle did this to an attack that boasts of two of India’s fastest bowlers and the best prospects – Umesh Yadav and Manuel Aaron.

Commenting on his innings, Gayle said he had been under stress and pressure to perform — well it was not apparent from his face or the way he was stroking the ball. He seemed to be in the now, at peace with the current moment, not resisting or for that matter (perhaps even registering) any of the cacophony from the crowd. He was in the zone and was seeing nothing, but the ball (because everything else is a distraction), just as our little Arjuna was only seeing the bird he was supposed to shoot. It was certainly a spiritual experience watching him bat for me personally – he carried me into his world of calm and I spoke only after the innings ended and all I could say was “It is just not fair (to the opposition).” It is exhilarating to watch some of these peak sports performances in absolute silence – a joy that can not be described in mere words although I have tried to. Thank you Chris Gayle.

Are Pilots Crash Landing Air India?

http://www.allthingscustomized.com/product/planes-t-shirt/

For the last nine days, Indian media and aggrieved passengers are tirelessly following the strike by Air India (AI) pilots. About 200 AI pilots have reported sick to retaliate against unpaid salaries and ensure that they test fly the newly purchased Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes!

Reports of stranded Air India passengers and their woes are making headlines every now and then. Many passengers are not only stranded, but have also not been offered flight transfers. As a result, most of these aggrieved Air India passengers are paying exorbitant flight tickets to ensure that their travel/business plans do not go awry!
Blame it on the striking pilots, did you say? Well, a surprise statement from Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) president stating that “the government should at least begin preliminary talks. We are ready for talks but they should formally invite us for talks to resolve the issue,” leaves many confused about who is to blame! Over the last nine days, a Delhi high court order declaring the pilot strike illegal, a promise to hear out the grieving pilots unconditionally, and a “last chance” warning; have had zero impact on the pilots! Consequently, in the last nine days, the airline has incurred a 150 crore debt, that is denting Indian aviation’s reputation locally and globally.
Most of Air India’s cancelled flights are international and about 20 out of 50 of these flights have been affected. Before we get into the details, here is a quick overview about Air India.
Flash back: JRD Tata founded Tata airlines in 1934, India’s first leap into the sky. It was in 1946 that it became a public limited company and was named Air India. It grew rapidly and became a symbol of India’s pride and glamour until tragedy struck. Yes, now Air India (fondly called maharaja) is silently breathing its last sigh. Its market share has plummeted from 60 per cent (when India’s aviation sector opened to private competition) to just about 17 per cent now. Air India has managed to steadily lose out on its passenger and cargo traffic over the years. A systematic failure of the airline!
This is the worst in its 79-year history. So how did the airline that reaped profits until 2005, manage to go on ventilator support sponsored by the tax payers money? Well, all this mess started with one wrong move of the government!
The government in 2007 decided to merge Indian Airlines (IA) with Air India (AI). The whole idea behind a merger is to achieve economies of scale, increase revenues, and cut expenses.
In this case, the merger did the opposite! Debts and losses soared, employees of AI and IA clashed over pay scale differences, losses mounted, union strikes increased, and the erstwhile pride is now unimaginable! A clear case of a marriage gone wrong, don’t you think?

What’s more, the carrier is passing through turbulent weather. It’s not a nuclear secret anymore that the government managed airline is running in debts to the tune of 42,000 crores with financial losses amounting to nearly 8,000 crores for 2011-12! Further, you would be shocked to know that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India has blamed the decision of the aviation ministry to buy 68 new Boeing aircrafts priced at over 40,000 crores as one of the major causes of the debt troubles in Air India in 2005.

So now that the problem is out in the open, what needs to be done to resolve it is yet another puzzling question. De-merging the airlines would only induce more disorder and the government has denied privatizing AI. In return, the government has surprisingly fueled the sick Maharaja with a 30,000 crore revival package! Will the taxpayer’s money bring the Maharaja back on its toes?
So how can Air India really come out of this mess and start rebuilding its image and brand loyalty? A major restructuring of the top management with civil aviation experts, coupled with a sincere attempt to foster good employee relations may help in improving the financial situation. It will require a lot of effort to improve the dented image of AI among the helpless flying class who are at loss every time the airline faces a strike.

Please spare a moment to pray for the sick Maharaja :) ! Tell us what you think can be done to save it from crash landing. Share your comments below. You never know who’s listening!

Is Satyamev Jayate Irrelevant to Karnataka?

http://www.allthingscustomized.com/product/satyamev-jayate-t-shirt/

It is sad that Satyamev Jayate– the show that raked a storm on Indian television with a single episode – cannot be understood by a large population of south India’s state of Karnataka! If you hae not heard about Satyameva Jayate already, here is a quick preview:

Satyameva Jayate is a television show hosted by Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and co-produced by Star TV and Aamir Khan Productions. It is a weekly show that brings to light social issues that distress India. The show that is aired at an unconventional 11a.m. time slot on Sundays, managed a record-breaking 8.7 TRP rating after its first episode!!

In the first show that aired on May 6th, the focus was on the burning issue of female feticide in India. In this episode, Aamir Khan did not just chat (like most channels do) about the issue, but traced the origin of this practice, provided statistics that were collected over 2 years of research, and suggested solutions. In addition, he also interviewed victims and their families and provided video footages of sting operations that were performed in the past.

This first show had such a strong impact that Madhya Pradesh Health Department suspended the licenses of 65 maternity centers for not submitting their reports. That’s not all; Aamir Khan met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and got an assurance from him that a fast-track court for female feticide cases will be set-up immediately.

When a single show has such an impact on audiences, it should be aired across as many states and in as many local languages. Unfortunately, that is not the case! Satyameva Jayate is available only in select regional languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, and Bengali (and English, of course).

Kannada is the only south-Indian, regional, language that has been left out. Do not blame Satyameva Jayate producers for this mishap – they dubbed the show in Kannada and Suvarna television channel was supposed to air this program starting May 6th! Shockingly, the Karnataka government, especially Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) and Karnataka Television Association (KTA) prevented the Kannada-dubbed show from being aired!

Taking refuge under an old restriction imposed by the KFCC and KTA, way back in 1960, Karnataka state has banned the dubbing of movies and television serials into Kannada for decades now. The reason being that dubbing would suppress local talent and would also reduce the popularity of Kannada language.

Consequently, a majority of the not conversant population of Karnataka state (accounting for about 2 crore people) might have skipped the last episode of Satyameva Jayate because they did not understand Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, or Bengali languages! It is sad, is it not?

Both rural and urban populations of Karnataka must watch such inspiring television episodes. Did you know that Bangalore Rural has a glaring sex ratio of 872 females to 1,000 males? Who knows, it could be attributed to the prevalent female feticide practices in rural Bangalore! Many online blogs have condemned this decision - Churumuri declares it “Talibanisation of Kannada cinema and television”!! Voice your Vote!

Should Satyameva Jayate get dubbed in Kannada?

IPL 5’s Top Entertainer, Chris Gayle!

http://www.allthingscustomized.com/product/chris-gayle-t-shirt/

If you ask me ‘what’s best about IPL’, it is not just the spicy mix of entertainment and sports, but also the fact that it has got a whole lot of international cricketers to play for India and on Indian soil. Irrespective of nationality, IPL audiences have roared with equal zeal every time a cricketer hurled sixes or took wickets. After all, its IPL boss and unlimited fun is guaranteed!

In between all this hoopla, there’s this one cricketer who’s slowly winning hearts and emerging as a phenomenon for the Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL cricket team. Yes, you guessed it right, it’s the flamboyant opener Christopher Gayle (Chris Gayle).

Let’s accept it, RCB’s performance wouldn’t be the same without the imperative presence of Gayle’s swirling bat!

Chris Gayle in IPL 5 has amassed 250 runs in seven matches with an average of 41.66 runs and an amazing strike rate of 152.43 runs this season. If you didn’t know, he also won the orange cap in the last IPL season.

In IPL 5, Gayle’s  five, successive, electrifying sixes against Pune Warriors India remains unforgettable! If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the link to the Youtube video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyz3aUCeaVQ

These sixes were not just great cricketing shots, but one of them unfortunately landed on an 11-year-old girl’s nose leading to a fracture (a clear case of fun landing you in trouble)! Gayle always known as the dangerous, stylish, batsman; revealed his soft-hearted side soon after!

Chris visited the young, injured, cricket fan and (you won’t believe) presented her the medal he won at the match!! He also invited the girl to watch the remaining matches from the VIP lounge. Lucky girl we must say! Now, don’t be shocked to see many more little girls and boys (and even grownups :p)  flocking the stadium, hoping to come in the way of Gayle’s sixes! :D

Not many know that the big West Indian southpaw has suffered from a congenital heart problem and even underwent surgery in Australia in 2005. He is still nursing a groin injury. Perhaps that explains why he does not bother with ones and twos and relies purely on those massive hits that boom from his Gun and Moore cricket bat and go sailing out of the ground! Well it’s working wonders for RCB!

The latest news from the RCB camp is that the batting powerhouse is ready to roll his arm over and chip in as a bowler. The team is 7th on the IPL 5 points table and Gayle’s decision may well lead the team to the play-offs. We also suggest that Mr Mallya hire him as the brand ambassador for his sinking Kingfisher airlines. He may turn fortunes for them yet again since he shows remarkable capability to entertain off the field also!

Yes, Gayle enjoys grooving to Bollywood numbers. It’s not surprising then that Mr Gayle is seriously considering a career in Bollywood in the near future. He was quoted as saying that he plans to ‘take Bollywood away from Salman Khan’. Voila, we don’t know if he will succeed in Bollywood, but we may soon see Chris dancing with desi actors in a full-fledged masala entertainer ;) ! That’s exciting news for all Chris fans.

Well, it’s time we sit back and see what this cricket champion has to offer! One can safely assume that we will see a lot more fireworks emanate from his cricket blade.  Keep the sixes raining Mr Gayle, we are loving every bit of it!!

You Should Appear on Live TV during an IPL Match!!

Indian Premier League (IPL) 5 is gaining increased popularity, now that the playoffs are just two weeks away (starting 22nd May). While most cricket fans have to make do with watching IPL T20 matches on television, a lucky few actually experience the game live at the stadium!

Having taken all the effort and spent considerable money on IPL tickets, most spectators leave no stone unturned in expressing their fan following for their favorite team. They jazz up the stadium with colorful attires, placards and what not!

So, if you are attending some of the upcoming IPL matches, you ought to steal the thunder from the giggling cheer leaders! If you are successful in diverting the cameraman’s attention away from these dancing, mostly foreign beauties, you surely will be on television! Now, come on – don’t tell us that it’s difficult. It’s easy if you follow our tips!

Among the many things you can do, here is a simple one. Buy a colorful wig. The type that resembles Malinga’s hairstyle is most appealing to cameramen! Don’t believe us – just observe the headgear of spectators that get caught on camera!

Next, get your favorite team’s flag painted on your cheeks. This is very favorable among lensmen and a must-do. No wonder, face painters make a bee-line outside stadiums a couple of hours before every IPL match!

With a wig and some face paint on, you must also arm yourself with your favorite team’s flag! I know, I know,…these are long-established formulas or tips, what’s new, you ask?

Well, the new tip is to wear unique yet classy t-shirts that express your fan following! To stand out, you have to buy unique, IPL, t-shirts at online stores such as Pegox. Pegox is one of those few online stores that not only sells unique IPL t-shirts but also allows you to design the t-shirt yourself! Take a look at some of the IPL t-shirts on sale at Pegox:

So, let’s summarize……..

Unique t-shirts + wig + face painting + team flag = increase in probability of appearing on live TV!

Here is wishing you all very best. May you appear on live TV during an IPL match :) !!

Corbett Made News in April 2012!!

Surprise, surprise, Corbett National park - India’s first national reserve – got quite popular in April 2012! Corbett is situated in Uttarakhand and was started in the year 1936. It covers an area of 1288 sq. kms and is flanked by the Himalayas and the Terai-bhabar region on either side.

This diverse yet rich landscape is home to some of the rarest fauna species including Indian Tigers, Asian Elephants, Leopards, deer, wild boars, Asiatic jackals, and Otters. Corbett’s birdlife cannot be missed either. Ospreys, ducks, Flycatchers, Great Barbets, and Wallcreepers fly miles (across oceans at times) into the park to escape the extreme cold in the Himalayas up north!

It is perhaps for these reasons that 74 judges from Delhi decided to take an official holiday at Corbett in April 2012. While Delhi’s judiciary defended the move stating that the trip would help in “personality development and would also act as a stress-buster”; the common janta was not too happy! The reason for this unhappiness was not just that these 74 judges ignored the judiciary for four days across six, Delhi, district courts. It was also the fact that these courts already had a backlog of “2.72 crore” cases as of March 2010!! In other words, Corbett made news for charming a substantial chunk of Delhi’s judiciary who were otherwise supposed to be resolving the common man’s disputes!

This is not the only reason that made Corbett popular in April! A pilot project called E-eye (electronic eye) was initiated in the reserve during this month. This project, the first of its kind in the country, was well-received. The E-eye project uses ten, high resolution, thermal and infrared cameras to monitor the movement of animals (tigers in particular) in poaching-sensitive areas. It will also generate alarms and help in tracking big cats when they cross the reserve’s boundaries.

What is surprising is that big cats (tigers and leopards) continue to be poached although Corbett is swarming with tourists, bureaucrats, forest officials, and film-makers! Yes, Corbett’s stunning landscape attracts a lot of film-makers as well! The latest film crew that visited the reserve is likely to be from the movie titled “The Forest”. The movie will hit the screens on May 4th and is going to be release by PVR Cinemas under the ‘Directors Rare’ initiative. So, if you have not visited Corbett already, you can watch “The Forest” and get a quick glimpse of this forested paradise.

To add to the mounting woes of human encroachment, Corbett has witnessed an unprecedented number of tourists this year! People visit from far across the world to spot Corbett’s elusive fauna. So, what is it that makes Corbett such a popular reserve? You see, Corbett was infested with man-eating tigers during the early decades of the 20th century.

These man-eaters (mainly tigers and leopards) were shot to death by famous British hunter Jim Corbett. He immortalized his hunts through best-selling books such as the Man-eaters of Kumaon, and The Man-eating Leopard of Rudraprayag. Thus, from the early 20th century till date, Corbett continues to mesmerize tourists.

Today, tigers continue to be the center focus of the Corbett reserve and about 200 of them thrive in the park. In fact, India’s tiger conservation program was initiated at Corbett on 1st April, 1973.

If you want to visit Corbett, then the best time is between mid – October until late June. The park is so huge that it is divided into four zones – Jhirna, Bijrani, Sonandi, Domunda, and Dhikala. During the peak season, all four zones are open to public. You can explore the park through jeep safaris and elephant rides. Even if you do not spot the elusive tiger, the park’s other inhabitants and sheer beauty will keep you mesmerized!

So, pack your bag, pick up good binoculars, shop for Jim Corbett’s books and head off to that forested paradise in Uttarakhand. What are you waiting for?

How do you think Avengers contained Loki, Thor,… ?

You must have already seen the Avengers movie. If not, a quick plot summary without spoilers is that the super heroes (Iron man, Hulk, …etc) save the world from the threat of Norse gods Loki, Thor, and their cohorts. I hope I did not spoil the story because there is much to the story and lot more in the graphics and the 3D animation.

Anyway, do you think that the super heroes on Earth will fight the gods all by themselves? Think again. Wouldn’t they need some support from a super-super hero? At least, some moral support…Ohh, Come on,…after all they are mortals! Well, you may or may not like to hear this but the fact is that the super heroes on Earth got support from none other than God “Shiva”.

You still don’t believe this ? Then why do you think Agent Romanoff is sent to India to recruit Dr. Banner(Hulk)? Don’t you see any undercover operation movies? The real deal is that she needed to get God Shiva on their side and not the other gods! Shiva ofcouse stays at his home, Kailash in India. So, poor girl, where else could she go? So, you connect the dots…Ahhh, so now you ask why Shiva is not seen in the movie. That’s easy! because he is media-shy. Nevertheless, he is caught guarding the world and “ON CAMERA”. Ohhh myyyy! now you want to know how we knew about his presence. Okay that’s it! This is the last question that you are asking. Period.

Remember, last Sunday evening, the sky turned unusually reddish in color over Bangalore. We were afraid that the Norse Gods were spewing some action and scanned the skies. Then when we saw Shiva, we were happy, delighted, and then relieved!! We went back indoors and continued watching the soap opera!

Below is the picture that we captured. (Move the mouse over the image in case you are not able to identify him. we can assist you). Okay, no more questions… thanks for your attention. Bye. See you. Bye Bye. Good luck. Have a nice day. Bye!!

Yes, Sachin Tendulkar – the Rajya Sabha MP – Can!!

As you must have repeatedly read and heard by now, Sachin Tendulkar – the legendary Indian cricketer – is soon becoming a member of parliament (MP) in India’s Rajya Sabha. His seat number also seems to be decided – he is supposed to be designated chair number 100 in honor of his 100 centuries!

What is raking up a storm in the public domain is not the news of his becoming an MP, but the fact that Sachin Tendulkar has accepted the membership of a political party. Also, the fact that Sachin is still playing cricket (he was busy playing and practicing for 235 days last year) and has not taken a stand on any social issue till date, forces some to judge him unfit for a powerful political position. Whether his fans like it or not, the 39-year-old “God of cricket” has chosen to become a (most-likely Congress party nominated) Rajya Sabha member!

Nevertheless, if we ignore his political affiliations, it is obvious that Sachin Tendulkar is powered by mammoth fan-following and unparalleled admiration. Sachin has the potential to bring about a sea change in Indian sports that extends beyond cricket! Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra said “Tendulkar can make a change in the sporting landscape of the country” and we hope that this is why he has indeed joined the Rajya Sabha.

India’s sporting scenario (excluding the game of cricket) is in a state of terrible mess. This appalling state of Indian sports directly translates into poor performances in world sports championships. In the 2008 Olympics for instance, India won just 3 medals while our neighbor China won a staggering 100! Countries such as Germany and Australia, that have drastically lower populations than India, won 41 and 46 medals respectively!

There is no doubt that Sports is important to India. Sporting medals, honors, and championships unite the country and boost its morale. Having said that, Sachin has a lot on his plate in the coming six years, if he wants to reform Indian sports.

We have made a list of some major drawbacks in Indian sports. Vote for what you think Sachin can change in Indian Sports as a member of its parliament. You never know, the God of Cricket might just be listening  :) !

How Can Sachin Tendulkar Reform Indian Sports as a Rajya Sabha Member?

True or False: Gelato contains Gelatin?

Gelato is the delicious, Italian, ice cream that is greatly relished in most parts of the world. It is traditionally sold in parlors called Gelatarias in Italy that dot every street and Piazza (Italian square). These popular and cozy parlors beckon you to taste colorful mounds of glossy Gelato with nuts, fruits, and biscuits; and is served in (oh, so yummy) cones or cups.

In India though, Gelato is a fairly new dessert and faces extreme competition from well-established ice-cream brands. Of course, if you are an ill-informed eggetarian like me, then tasting the Gelato becomes slightly more challenging. You see, I was told a while back that Gelato contains gelatin. Gelatin is a glutinous substance obtained by boiling ligaments, bones, skin, etc., of animals in water! Perhaps this misleading information stemmed from the similarity between the words “Gelatin” and “Gelato”. As a result, I had resisted from enjoying Gelato until I landed in Italy.

In Italy, it is impossible to resist the Gelato even if it is made from bone marrow!! Before taking my first lick of Gelato, I asked the shop owner “what is the difference between Gelato and Ice cream“? ” I don’ t know” came the blunt reply (she actually meant “go ahead and eat it, how does it matter what it is made of”). With no answer, and a delicious pistachio Gelato cone melting in one hand, I just decided to enjoy every lick :) .

With the help of Google (and to my relief), I soon discovered that Gelato is the Italian word for “frozen” and is not made from gelatin! In fact, Gelato is among the earliest types of ice-cream and is said to have become popular in the 16th  century.

What we popularly relish as ice cream today is actually inspired by Gelato! So, what’s the difference then between Gelato and regular, factory made, ice cream? Read on..
First of all, Gelato is more flavorful, not because it has more fat, but because it has lesser volume of air. Lesser air means that there is more flavor in every mouthful. Second, Gelato is served at a lower temperature, taking lesser time to mesmerize your taste buds. Last but not the least, the most comforting difference is the fact that Gelato has lesser calories than ice cream (Gelato has lesser cream and more milk than most ice creams)!

Most importantly, the answer to the “True or false: Gelato contains Gelatin” question is false. After reading so much about Gelatos, it is but natural that you indulge in one soon! Just remember to say La Dolce Vita (“the sweet life” in Italian) while you savor the yummy Gelato :)
